ABOUT

Jacob Souders is a composer, sound designer, audio engineer, record producer and performer from Kansas City. He holds Bachelor of Music degrees in Music Composition and Music Theory from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory and is pursuing his Master of Fine Arts in Theatre Sound Design and Technology at UMKC. Jacob studied with world-renowned composers Paul Rudy Chen Yi, Yotam Haber and Zhou Long, and studied under sound designer Tom Mardikes.

Jacob creates music and is a sound designer for the concert hall, theatre, film, video games and immersive audio installations. His work has been featured on the KC Fringe Festival and American College Theatre Festival.​​ He is a multi-instrumentalist, playing guitar, bass, keyboards, cello and drums. He has worked as a studio manager and record producer both independently and for Music Ascension in upstate New York and Pennsylvania, helping to facilitate creative environments with the people he works with.​ Jacob strives to keep artistic vision and integrity at the center of every project and passionately believes in the value of discovery through the artistic process.
